Ruining a childhood classic
For a first miniature, Rogue Hobbies absolutely nailed it with this one. I couldn’t hit order fast enough. There’s so much character without being overly reliant on detail.

I don’t normally paint figures this big, but I still followed my usual process of base colour first. I find this helps me get a better sense of the model as a whole, I don’t go for painting each section to perfection. It looks great for Instagram but it’s not ideal for actually getting things done.

The big detail is that I changed the lil’ guy as a lure into Dory from Finding Nemo to match the clown fish in his arms. It’s like the marketing for Lilo and Stitch where Stitch would appear in different Disney properties and cause havoc. Will always take an opportunity to be a little more Stitch.
A gaming base never feels right for a display model, so I made him a pier to stand on from some scrap balsa wood and sticks. The ropes are just string.
